He established the business in 1981. Roland has over 40 years of experience in the HVAC industry, including 28 years as an HVAC teacher at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational High School in Upton, Massachusetts.

Boucher Energy Systems offers our customers only the very best in both gas and oil furnaces. Our choice for gas fired systems is American Standard and for oil fired systems, Thermo Pride. A furnace's heating ability is gauged with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) percentage. A higher AFUE percentage indicates a more efficient furnace. A gas furnace uses natural gas, although some models can be converted to utilize propane. An oil furnace uses heating oil. An electricity source is required to run the control systems, blower, and some accessories.

Central Air Conditioning: A home's "split system" central air conditioning system includes a compressor, fan, condenser coil, evaporator coil, and refrigerant.

A split system heat pump is a year-round comfort system. In the summer it draws heat out of your home to keep it cool, and in the winter it draws heat from outside air into your home to keep it warm. Many heat pump installations have a booster electrical resistance heater that automatically supplements heat brought in from the outside. Outside air always has heat in it — even at very low outdoor temperatures. Like a central air conditioning system, it includes a compressor, a fan, outdoor coil, indoor coil and a refrigerant.

A boiler, which uses hot water to heat your home, is also referred to as a hot water system. After the water is heated, it is pumped through baseboards or radiators throughout the home transferring the heat to each room. Boucher Energy Systems, Inc. has installed radiant heat for over 25 years. Radiant heat uses warm water- generally from 80 degrees to 140 degrees - and is circulated through flexible, durable PEX tubing embedded in the floor. The floor radiates warmth to the walls and objects in the room. As these objects become warm, you experience less heat loss because you're standing next to warm objects. A radiant-floor heating system first heats the objects in the room. Then, the objects heat the air to a certain degree.
