I am from Nashville, TN. I've been married to my beautiful wife Christi for over 20 years and we've been blessed with two wonderful kids; our son, Price and daughter Anna. We are a Christian family and absolutely acknowledge our Lord and trust Him to direct us in everything we do. My favorite thing to do during my free time is to spend time on the lake with my family and friends. I also enjoy playing guitar, fitness and most everything outdoors. I've been in HVAC industry for over 23 years. I am NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certified, a HERS Energy rater as recognized by Energy Star (and current with the latest version 3 certification), Manual J certified, have completed LEED for Homes Green Rater training, and have several years of continuing education in building science.

We are very pleased with their work, I recommend them to anyone that keeps their Air and Heater in good working order.
I have been using Estes & Cain for my heating and cooling systems since moving to Mt Juliet in 2014. They have not disappointed me and I highly recommend them. You too will not be disappointed.
if you want a great A/C or Heat guy call Estes and Cain. I've had both the owner Jim and one of his employee's come to my house to fix my aging unit. They have always done a great job and have never tired to sell me on a new unit like other companies did. When Jim says it's time I will absolutely trust his opinion on it. I am also in the trades business and I recommend him all the time to my clients. Top notch owner means top not business. A+ in my book.
Some customers get concerned when their higher quality filter turns black. The fact of the matter, is that the higher quality filters trap more particulates causing them to look pretty nasty. The cheaper filters just let the particulates through. Whatever doesn't collect on your coil recirculates.
Follow up PSA: we've helped several customers over the phone this week. We'd much rather help you over the phone than come out and have to charge for a service call for a non- issue. Customers with heat pumps may find their outdoor unit not working due to a defrost board lock-out caused by a frozen.
PSA: If you have a heat pump system, it may be a good idea to go ahead and switch to "emergency heat". The thick ice could freeze your outdoor fan blade and possibly burn up a motor. Don't forget to switch back to normal heat in a few days when we thaw out. It's rare we have ice storms like this in our area, but I've seen many unnecessary service calls in the past due to this type of weather.
PSA: I may regret posting this, but I recently learned that federal tax credits for qualifying equipment have been extended to equipment installed between 1/1/15 and 12/31/2020. Most qualifying systems that we sell would qualify for a $350 credit or max out at $500 credit per household for multiple.
Glad to see our technician determined exactly why the defrost board failed.
