Pro Heating and Cooling installed our Heating and Cooling unit in our attic in our brand new home December 2015. This past Sunday, Oct 16, our ceiling in our kitchen started leaking. Pro came out Sunday afternoon, Daniel from Pro said it looked like the condensation line had been moved and that the switch on the bottom of the unit failed to worked. Had it worked, the unit would have shut off according to Daniel. My husband watched him rewire the switch. And now it should be working. Took Daniel maybe 5 minutes to fix. Daniel told us Ronnie, owner of Pro would be in contact with us Monday afternoon. That did not happen. But what did happen is our wet ceiling fell down on the floor Monday night. My husband managed to get in contact with Ronnie and our builder, Dean Morris (PDM Designs of Springdale, AR) on Tuesday. They told us since it appeared the line had been moved and even though the switch wasn't wired properly, they weren't liable for the damages. Ronnie told us the failing switch was not a code issue. Basically that it didn't have to work. My husband told them they need to rethink that and they called us back shortly and said they would pay half the damages and we would pay the other. At first we agreed, but I started making calls and found out real quick Ronnie lied about the code. I spoke to a home inspector and he was able to provide us the sheet that explains the code. Ronnie is now saying Daniel told him the switch was working fine on Sunday. A huge lie. Had that been true we would have not had any water except in the attic. He also said he had spoken to his insurance company and they told him to let them haggle it out with our insurance company. So we are left paying a large deductible on a new home we have lived in for about 10 months. Sure doesn't seem fair.
