Red Coats Inc. is a Bethesda, Maryland based, Green Seal GS-42 certified, janitorial contractor servicing the Mid-Atlantic Region and the State of Florida. We specialize in providing commercial office cleaning services to a myriad of customers and are known as being an excellent strategic partner for both owner occupied and leased office space. Founded in 1960, with several small accounts and a staff of only twelve employees, Red Coats Inc. has grown to be the largest, local provider of professional custodial services in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
The Red Coats Family of companies includes a number of business and investment vehicles that have grown over the years since the Peel family founded Red Coats Inc. in 1960. From time to time these opportunities created great integration between the Commercial Office Cleaning business of Red Coats and the services these acquisitions offered. In many instances, these companies share the same, or similar, client base in the markets we serve. This was true of our acquisition of Potomac Services in 2004 which has now been fully integrated in the Red Coats family and uses the Red Coats name.
Our expansion into Southern Virginia started in 1991 through our uniformed security division, Admiral Security Services. Continuing our philosophy of "planned, controlled growth", our Southern Virginia branch has the capability to provide a range of building services and security services through our Richmond office at 2117 Lake Avenue. Today Red Coats serves approximately 15 million square feet in Southern Virginia area, including Hampton Roads, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, Tidewater, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg areas, providing a complete range of commercial office cleaning services through our Richmond office location.
In the early 1980's Red Coats expanded its custodial service operations into the rapidly growing Florida marketplace, opening an office in Tampa, FL. This operation, until recently was called PotomacServiceLink in most of the Florida market. Currently Red Coats provides custodial maintenance services and green cleaning for over 12 million square feet of commercial and institutional space in the Florida marketplace. We currently have three offices in the Florida to serve your needs, Miami, Orlando and Tampa.
Our expansion into the Carolinas started in 2007 as an extension of our business in Southern Virginia. Today Red Coats serves approximately 6 million square feet throughout North and South Carolina. The North Carolina Division is managed by Mr. Jack Ball, Vice President, Southern Virginia and North Carolina. Using the team cleaning concept, our Chapel Hill, NC Janitorial Services include Class A Office space, LEED Certified Facilities, Warehouses, Apartment and Condo Common space, providing cleaning and porter service.
