Engineered Heating & Cooling had its beginnings in 1978 when Tom and Shirley Lowing formed Lowing Enterprises, a HVAC/R contracting company. John Sedine was its first employee. The company worked on a wide variety of projects including, residential equipment replacement, HUD home projects, apartments buildings, commercial, and industrial. After earning a reputation of doing quality work that was on time, in budget, and providing systems that worked as designed; developers began asking them to work on their projects outside of Michigan.

Commercially, we have worked on a number apartments, multi-story buildings and mixed use projects. O historical renovation included apartments, as well as three commercial lease spaces on the first floor. HVAC systems for apartments in multi-story buildings are tough to begin with, but once you add all unique design elements and requirements posed by a historic renovation, the result is a highly challenging project.

We have over 30 years of experience in design - build HVAC systems. On the EHC staff is a Licensed Professional Engineer who is also a credentialed LEED AP. We also have certified Test & Balance personnel as well. Our fabrication shop can rapidly fabricate the sheet metal parts needed to install most duct systems. Both principals, John & Aaron, have done extensive training to the industry. Project manager at the company he joined 42 years ago (1978) - as its first full-time employee. Bought the company in 1994 and subsequently sold it in 2017 to his son Aaron, its current President and owner.

Our ability to engineer and install effective and efficient HVAC systems has long been recognized by architects, builders, and developers. Our principals continue to be active in the HVAC industry and governmental bodies that develop the codes and standards that regulate HVAC design and installation. In addition, EHC provides significant technical training and consulting for others in the HVAC industry. Since 1978, EHC has engineered and installed many unique HVAC systems in many unique buildings.
