Barrier Electric Co. was established in 1960 by Julio Barrier, who identified an opportunity to provide a quality electrical service to local homeowners and industry, from his in depth practical knowledge and experience gained over a number of years. It was incorporated in 1984 with Julio Barrier appointed as president and his son, John Barrier as vice president. Julio Barrier stepped down as president in 1994 leaving John as president. In 2001 Richard Cirminello, owner of Dot Electric and later Proven Electric, joined forces with John Barrier.
