1) The "MM" (master mechanical) license. This is the license that the owner of any plumbing company needs to have. 2 Journeyman's license, gas or plumbing. This license is needed by the serviceman who comes to your house to do even the simplest task. A journeyman can supervise apprentices under him, but there MUST be a journeyman on site if there are apprentices working. So Mr. Bossman who owns a plumbing company MUST have an MM license. But Plumber Steve who shows up at your door doesn't have to have his MM license because he is working under the umbrella of his boss's MM license.
