Nordic Stove & Fireplace Center has been serving lower Fairfield County for over 45 years. Owners Scott & Martha Robinson have over 3 decades of experience in the Hearth Industry working both in retail sales and manufacturing. This website is designed to provide you with the information and product knowledge to help you make an informed decision. We invite you to our showroom where you can see the products burning and feel the warmth as we discuss your project that will add value to your home.

Whether you are an old hand at wood burning or a novice looking for your first hearth appliance, you will be impressed by today's wood stoves and what they offer. Design innovations and advances in technology have created a new generation of appliances that are safer, more efficient and easier to use than ever imaginable a few decades ago. Today's EPA-certified clean burning stoves benefit from years of combustion engineering and research. Wood burning appliances tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency are required to burn 85 percent cleaner than conventional stoves manufactured before the mid-1980s.

Technology has caught up with the electric light bulb and today's electric product offerings are surprisingly realistic! There are four legged electric stoves, fireplace inserts, and electric fireplaces ready to be built-in to a room. If you have a blank, empty wall there are now optional cabinets that can surround the fireplace and provide you a complete look in minutes.

If you have an open fireplace, the addition of a glass door (also known as a glass enclosure) is an important consideration- in some towns it may even be a requirement. Although it is a beautiful accent for your fireplace, the main function of a glass door is to reduce heat loss from your home. With any wood burning fireplace or gas log set, the damper inside must be fully open when burning. As the fire dies out, you cannot close the damper or you'll get a room full of smoke. Leaving the damper open through the night allows room air/ your furnace heated air to travel out the chimney.

With the improvement of key technologies, electric fireplaces and stoves are rapidly becoming a popular economical alternative to traditional wood burning and gas fire features. Here at Nordic Stove, we have a wide variety of electric fireplaces and stoves that are beautiful, energy efficient, and low-maintenance. It's the perfect way to add ambiance and style to your home or business without the maintenance of traditional fire features.

Homeowners with access to natural gas or liquid propane (LP) have a unique heating option that allows for easy installation virtually anywhere in the home. Gas fireplaces, Gas Fireplace Inserts, Gas Stoves and Gas Logs lend the convincing look of burning wood to any room. Today's gas hearth appliances have been designed to mimic a cordwood fire, without the hassles and mess. They are available as decorative products as well as supplemental heating appliances. While decorative appliances, such as gas log sets, usually offer wood flame aesthetics only, direct-vent appliances offer a generous amount of heat into the home.

Today the most efficient way to add a fireplace to a home is by utilizing gas as the fuel, and the technology called "direct vent." With today's direct vent technology you do not need a full chimney system going up to the top of the building; instead, it can be vented out a side wall and stop. The chimney vent pipe is a co-axial (pipe within a pipe) system, where the outer walled pipe brings in fresh air to feed the fire and the exhaust goes out the inner wall of the same pipe. Everything comes in from the outside and everything goes back out to the outside.

What a great experience and wonderful customer service. From choosing the fireplace doors, to the installation, the entire process was flawless. Our expectations were greatly exceeded when Scott gave us a fireplace screen to use while we waited for our new doors to be manufactured. Great people, great business!

Unbelievable and fantastic service. Beyond expectations. I was really impressed by their willingness to go out of their way, and their personal commitment to make customers like me happy. This is the kind of service you rarely see anymore, and I will go out of my way to support and recommend.

Five star customer service. Friendly and professional staff. My warranty case with Big green egg was resolved to my complete satisfaction.
