The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, based in Washington, D.C., has 22,000 members participating in nine regional district councils across the country. The union represents members who apply all types of roofing and waterproofing systems, including but not limited to: all low-sloped roofing systems (vegetative and solar photovoltaic roofs), structural waterproofing, steep-sloped roofing systems and air barrier applications. Roofs have been necessary since our ancestors first stepped out of their caves and began building shelters using indigenous materials.

It's #WomenInConstruc tionWeek and we'd like to take this opportunity to highlight the women who are doing great things at the Roofers Union and other trades. It hasn't always been easy, but these women are paving the way for other women and girls to start their own fulfilling careers in the building trades. #WICWeek2021
