Does your home have curb appeal? Maybe a fresh coat of paint is all you need. Mr. D's has over 25 years as a painting contractor in the San Diego area, and we can help you make that first impression a good one! When painting the exterior of your home, it's important to know the type and quality of paint that will work best on your home's surface; for example, paint used on wood or aluminum siding may not work well on a stucco surface. Mr. D's uses only quality paint and, with years of experience, is qualified to advise you on what will work best for your home's surface.
Spending more time outdoors in comfort can mean only one thing — having an outdoor living area. Whether you're looking to finally add that patio covering to your home, or replace your existing patio cover, or maybe even a complete backyard makeover, Mr. D's can help you decide what's just right for you. In the photo on the left, Mr. D's removed an old Gazebo and built a new patio cover to the existing slab. Patio covers not only provide shade for your family barbecues and allow you to enjoy your backyard, they help keep the hot sun from beating through the patio doors and, therefore, keep the interior of your home cooler.
Gone are the days of Navajo White and flat finishes on the interior walls of your home. Today we have over 1,700 different colors to choose from in a variety of finishes. There are still flat finishes which are mainly used on ceilings. Then we can choose from low-sheen, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss or gloss finishes. Typically, the lower sheens are made for your walls in the common areas like your living room and bedrooms; while the higher sheens are generally for areas where there will be water (bathrooms, laundry room and kitchen).
The bathroom in the photo on the right was REALLY in need of a remodel! Hopefully, your bathroom is in much better condition, but admittedly our bathrooms are without a doubt the most "used" room in our home. Besides the obvious, bathrooms often double as a hair and make-up salon, dressing room, and sauna for every member of our family. The tub and shower area get the most use on a daily basis, and it seems an endless task to keep our bathrooms clean, much less updated. However, leaking pipes and faucets can do a lot of damage if left unattended and not properly repaired.
If you want to add value to your home, nothing works better than a kitchen and/or bathroom remodel. Mr. D's can change your current outdated kitchen into the "gathering" area of your home. If your kitchen cabinets are still in great shape, this can typically be accomplished by taking your existing kitchen area and removing a wall or closet, or maybe even an island breakfast bar, and opening up the whole kitchen to the rest of the house. If your home is older and the appliances and tile have existed since day one, you will probably want to add new flooring, countertop, and appliances.
On the other hand, if parking your car in the garage is not important to you and you are looking to gain actual living space in your home without the expense of a complete home remodel, the garage is the perfect area to create it. Add framing and drywall to your garage and you have a new laundry room, music room, media room, exercise room, or even a large family room. Several hundred feet of additional living space can be realized, and Mr. D's can help you accomplish it! Whether you're looking for additional living space, a storage organization system, or you just want to make your garage more appealing, consider installing drywall, additional lighting, and resurfacing that drab, gray floor with a colorful epoxy flooring.

Cooperative, creative, professional, no detail forgotten, the very best crew ever, and Mr. D. is a pretty good guy too!
Mr. D's construction was a pleasure to work with. Provided a written estimate up front with no pressure. The crew was courteous and professional, cleaned up the worksite completely and even managed to finish the job early. Highly recommend them.
This is the second time we have worked with Mr D and his crew. The first time was a huge job at my mothers Mt Helix home we were getting ready to put on the market. Don gave us ideas that would modernize the house and did it all quickly and within our budget. When we decided to redo our whole kitchen I knew Don and his crew were the ones I wanted to work with. He is also taking out all of our icky popcorn ceiling painting and removing a partial wall, we are in the middle of our project and our timeline is perfect plus we get checked on by Don to make sure all is well! Love it!
Almost done with this project. We started by reframing the roof above the garage and the front porch. Removed the damaged siding and replaced with new siding. Installed a new smaller window above the front porch. Added new bricks below the 2 front windows and the post at the front. Repainted and.
The elves are racing to get this little room addition done before Christmas This will be the new dining room. Check out tiles for the new dining room

Started a new project this week. We are going to enclose this patio area and make it part of the interior living space. We'll keep you updated as we make progress. Adding new windows and approx 100 square feet to the interior space.
Trying to put the finishing touches on this Kitchen / Dining room makeover before Thanksgiving. We opened up the space between the kitchen and the dining room. Still need to paint and install the new countertop.
