It's no secret that most remodeling and home improvement businesses end up failing. The majority fail within 3 years or less, and very few see their 10th anniversary. Since we've been around for 49+ years, it got us to thinking what has made the difference. When you get right down to it, the secret to our success is actually pretty simple: we are completely dedicated to doing right by the homeowners that hire us. We really do want to deliver the very best remodeling experience and very best results.
We do many types of remodels, including amazing kitchens and bathrooms renovations. Whatever type of remodel you are considering, there is a consistency to our processes that guarantees you an outstanding result. Our methods have been honed to perfection because we have been in business since 1970 - you could say we've had time to figure out exactly what works best and why. Our clean, bright 3,000 square foot showroom is the place to discover product ideas, talk with us about your dreams for your home, and see remodels completely set-up and installed.
When it comes to remodeling and other home improvement projects, finding a company that is 100% professional in every category that matters is challenging. It makes a company that can deliver "The Total Peace Of Mind" Experience and "Eye-Popping" Results really stand out. We have a very thorough process to make sure your remodel is exactly what you want. We put in more time up front during the planning stages, which produces better results and eliminates stress. Pricing for a remodel can be confusing.
We moved into a 50 year old home and after the first winter we knew we needed to replace the old wooden front door and aluminum storm door. I researched doors at all the usual places one would go and after comparing them, chose Provia doors. I chose these doors because Provia manufactures both front and storm doors allowing you to have an exact color match. Also, the storm door cross bar sits at a level that falls below the half glass we chose for our entry door so when the doors are closed you cannot see the cross bar--just the beautiful window. This is not so with other doors which have a higher cross bar that cuts across the glass. I then found several local vendors that sell Provia doors.
I consulted Angie's List and narrowed it down to two vendors. I visted both stores and was comfortable with both. I chose Clark Renovations because it is a family owned and operated local business that does not enlist subcontractors, and because Chris, who met with us to discuss our needs, gave us the best price up front--no negotiating, no haggling, just the best fair price for the job. We had a good experience all around. Chris, came for the initial visit and had a detailed proposal to us the following week. After signing it took three weeks for the doors to come in. Charlie and Matt installed them the following week. It took two days to install the doors and the door surround. The installers were very professional, skilled craftsmen who did an outstanding job. Eric, the painter was meticulous. All of Clark's employees were respectful of our home and they left no trace behind. It was a pleasure having them here. Clark Renovations, Inc. has earned the top spot on my llist for future home improvements.
It went very well. All of the installers and subcontractors were excellent. They let us know who would be coming; when they were to be there; all were prompt, arriving on time and completing whatever the task was for the day. They were all pleasant, personable and competent! They were very accommodating in making changes for us. We had originally thought about taking out a wall between our kitchen and dining room and then decided not to do that. We had not included under-cabinet lighting but then decided to add. I was hesitant about adding a corner cabinet and it has turned out to be the right decision as recommended. It really added much needed storage space and looks great. We love the glass tiles and the counter tops especially. And I have my lovely coffee bar! In all, we are very pleased. We love our new kitchen! It was completed on time and on budget and I highly recommend them with no reservations.
Clark Renovations had replaced our windows about 8 years ago and we were extremely pleased with their work. when we decided to renovate our kitchen, they were the only people we contacted at first for an estimate. When the estimate was provided, we decided not to use them for this project, although they were willing to work with us to bring down the costs. This, of course meant less work would be done and we decided to get additional estimates. While their work is exceptional, sometimes the cost to do a limited renovation just isn't cost effective due to their labor costs.
We decided not to use them, they were excellent quality but they were pricey. They were about $10000 more than the other people we bidded it out to. They were fantastic. I saw some samples and other work that they had done, and it was nice.
We called for an appointment and were told they don't come out until we have looked at their showroom. They are open Wednesday evenings. Apparently they want a certain level of commitment to get the ball rolling. We went to see their showroom on 3/27. The accountant talked to us and showed us their cabinets and their Corian counter tops. They were all very nice. She gave us a packet to take home and set up an appointment for Chris to come by and give us an estimate. Chris came right on schedule and took some measurements and talked to us about what we wanted. On April 30th we went back to Clark's showroom to review his design. He showed us a picture of what it would look like. His estimate included Corian counter tops. The estimate includes new flooring and instead of painting it had tiles. It did not include the pendant lighting fixtures over the bar/counter or the over the stove style microwave oven.
It also included some new plumbing and wiring. We could have done some substitutions to get the price down, for example, laminate instead of Corian for the counter and painting instead of tiling. Chris was very knowledgeable, professional and prompt. Their products were very nice and their showroom was nicely organized to show off their products. The fact that they would do everything from start to finish was very tempting but we decided against Clark Renovations because 40,000 seemed just too much to pay for our galley kitchen based on the neighborhood, the fact we don't cook a lot and we won't be here for 20 more years. Our other estimates were in the 20s although they did not include the floor and painting/tile.
