Blake Bural is the architect designing United Way's new overnight shelter for women. AC + Co is honored to take part in helping United Way provide a dedicated building for women who need a place to stay, safe and off the streets. Hope has a new address and AC+Co is very proud to be a part of making that happen as the interior designer of the new Union Gospel Mission Men's Shelter. We are excited to see the plans we designed for the new Howard Street Charter School come to fruition. Construction was recently completed by Rich Duncan Construction.

Alan Costic has been actively involved in architectural practice for more than 41 years. As Principal of AC + Co, he is responsible for design, master planning and/or feasibility studies, and client contact. Alan has designed educational, governmental, correctional, and faith-based projects throughout the nation. His work has been honored with awards for design in both architecture and graphic arts. A graduate of Montana State University with a dual Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, in 2008, Alan was retroactively awarded a Masters in Architecture from MSU as well.

AC + Co Architecture | Community was founded in 1958 by Warren Carkin with the vision to provide a high level of design expertise and services as well as thorough understanding of its clients' objectives. Carkin was soon joined by fellow University of Oregon graduate Robert Sherman as partner. Carkin & Sherman Architects served the greater Salem community with projects such as McKay High School, the Salem Post Office, Oregon Women's Correctional Center, and the Chemeketa Community College master plan and several campus buildings.
