Hartman Construction was started in 1984 as a one man operation working from a garage. Since then we have grown with a reputation for honesty and fair policies in the Des Moines, Iowa area. We now have six installers, two estimators, and our own "in house" Certified Designer Linda Hartman, co-owner. All our work is guaranteed. We are a Licensed Plumber, Registered remodeling contractor, and a Certified Designer. We've achieved the highest possible rating with the Better Business Bureau, which is an A+.

Your old tub and the walls around your old tub or shower are COMPLETELY REMOVED down to the studs. We can add additional insulation in the walls around the shower if needed to keep the shower area warm. If there is old water damage to the floor, we repair it. 2. The new shower faucet of your choice is installed, with a new fiberglass shower floor pan or custom tile pan and drain. The water tight fiberglass pan is installed in a bed of concrete to make the floor extremely strong and level. 3. Sheets of waterproof tile board are screwed to the stud walls above the floor pan.

This photo is a refacing job done in the rural area of Des Moines. We re-face cabinets on any home within roughly a 50 mile radius of Des Moines, Iowa. When we reface cabinets, first we measure your doors. Each new door is then made by the highest quality craftsmen to the exact size for your cabinets. Our factory-trained installers come to your home and complete most jobs within 2 to 4 days. If we're to include a new countertop, sink, faucet and miscellaneous repairs, most kitchens are completed in 5 working days.

We put our heart and soul into selecting and/or designing the perfect set of cabinets for your kitchen. For our custom cabinet boxes, we use 3/4 veneer plywood on the sides, tops, bottoms, adjustable shelves, and back. Cabinet interiors are finished with stain and 7 coats of industrial pre catalyzed finish. Cabinet interiors are as durable and nice looking as the exteriors. On the faces, we use 3/4 solid wood face frames. Almost all types of wood can be used with matching doors and drawer fronts.

Finish colors are all Minwax colors or any Sherwin Williams paint color. Over stain color we apply 7 coats of clear pre-catalyzed industrial finish. This is an extremely durable finish, available in semi-gloss or satin sheen. Wood doors are used to REFACE CABINETS, on new CUSTOM CABINETS, and we sell wood doors to Cabinet Making Shops and "Do-it-yourselfers." Click on the doors below to enlarge the image. Doors are stained the Minwax color of your choice, then sprayed with seven coats of industrial finish in our dust free SPRAY BOOTH.

Linda Hartman is our "in-house" interior designer and company co-owner. She is a graduate of Sheffield School of Interior Design in New York. Linda offers you free first-time interior design advice, often with the planning of your remodeling project. After the initial free consultation, if you would like more complete design services, Linda will come to your home and show you her design services. Linda is extremely welcoming and friendly and will be a huge asset to your remodeling design.
