Could say 1968 when his grandmother had him wash the windows at her cafe with vinegar and newspaper, it worked but did not inspire him to be a window cleaner. He moved to Austin, Texas in 1979 and established Dependable Window Cleaning Service, providing commercial service to store fronts and buildings. While servicing a commercial client (a beauty salon in Lakeway, Texas) several ladies asked Don to do their homes. They referred him to their friends, boasting about the quality and trustworthy service he provides.
Here in West Austin and the Texas Hill Country, we recommend having your residential windows cleaned minimum of twice a year. Winds from caliche roads will kick up the dust and pollen from our local juniper and oak trees, causing grime to build up. After 6 months it starts to set up on the glass making it harder to remove which takes more time and cost more. My particular customers who want their windows to always be clean have their windows cleaned every three months, four times a year. In the city, pollutants such as exhaust and smoke will add themselves to the dust, and you might find it necessary to have your windows done more often.
They've been doing my windows for years and they do excellent work. I've gotten estimates a few times just to compare, and Don always has the best price. Another thing I like is that Don has had the same crew forever, so I always know who's coming to my house - and after all these years, I wouldn't trust anyone else inside my home. They're nice and respectful of me, my things, and my pets. I recommend them to all my friends and would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants an excellent job at a fair price.
BTW that pic. at the top of the page is looking through glass we just cleaned.
