I couldn't be happier with our new outdoor kitchen and garden space in Noe Valley. Joe and his team managed to transform my vision into reality through many iterations. Joe was extremely patient with my many specific ideas. The project required coordination with a general contractor, and JML introduced us to a top notch team.
We now have a much more usable and enjoyable space that has shade when it's sunny and hot, and heat when it's cold. Between the fireplace and the heaters, the patio can now be surprisingly comfortable and cozy in the evenings. Before, we would need to come inside once the sun goes down because it would be too cold to hang out on the patio. We've done a lot more entertaining since the project was completed, reviving our social life.
Our new backyard is really a dream come true. Thank you JML team!!!

Backyard gardens in the city vary wildly, from steep grades to changing light due to ongoing construction projects around your neighborhood. When I decided to update my backyard, I wanted someone familiar with the area, cared about water conservation, native plants, upcycling old materials and could help with design and drip irrigation. It was a long process and not cheap, but the results have been worth the upheaval. Joe came up with a creative redesign that reflected my goals, and Clay did a tremendous job at the execution! We had to adjust here and there along the way but I trusted the process, and I couldn't be happier. I really enjoyed working with everyone! I plan on taking advantage of the maintenance they offer only for clients.

We had very specific goals with our garden project: maximize the space as an outdoor room and create beautiful views from the windows. After we spoke with Joe about our goals, he spent almost an hour in the garden making drawings. And his first design was what we chose.
Our project was a complete transformation of the space. Retaining wall had to be built, patio replaced, deck built. All in a tiny Glen Park garden. With 24 stairs up...
The craftsmanship displayed by the team (Andy and Michael) was beyond measure. They paid attention to all the details, even things I hadn't thought of. Our garden became their garden in the way they worked.
Sure, JML might be more expensive. The investment is worth it. The piece of mind is worth it. The result is worth it.
My photos show the hardscaping as the garden is only 2 months old. Joe keeps checking in to see how the CA natives are doing, and with their monthly maintenance service, I know my garden will thrive.

Earlier this year we worked with Janet Moyer Landscaping on an extensive project that included our front and back yards and sides of our house. It was a pleasure working with Joe (head of design and installation) on the design of the project and everyone we interacted with during the project was extremely professional. I highly recommend working with them!

Our experience with Janet Moyer Landscaping was extraordinary: they designed and executed a beautiful backyard for us. At every turn they were communicative, creative, and, it being 2020, gritty in figuring out safe ways to proceed during the pandemic. The end results are spectacular. We would leap at the chance to work with them again and again.

So very excited with my newly landscaped backyard!
The initial meeting with Janet and Joe to go over what I wanted done was great and I was excited with their ideas.
They were always available to answer all my questions. When the construction started I was impressed with the crew led by Zachary. He was easy to talk to about what I wanted. They were efficient and very professional. I would highly recommend Janet Moyer Landscaping.
This was one of the more positive things we did during this pandemic.

I'm writing this review not as a client but as a person who was in need of help. On May 12th The company I work for was working a construction job at the same location as Janet Moyer Landscaping. I had a piece of debris fly in o my eye and I could not get it out. I was struggling, badly. The long and short is that Caleb and Ryan (both employees of Janet Moyer) must have seen me crouched in the corner pouring saline into my eye. Eventually I got into my work truck in an attempt to get out of everyone's way. Not soon after Caleb (a complete stranger at the time) knocked on the window of the truck and offered to hook up a hose and let me wash my eyes! Wow! Kind people do exist! Unfortunately by now I had scratched my eye and had to go see a doctor. Caleb and Ryan were both there upon my return and both seemed genuinely concerned for my well being. So again, I'm not writing this as a client but to attest to the character of Janet Moyers employees. You guys are awesome and I very much appreciated your gesture. Thanks fellas!
