Metro Turf Specialists is a family owned and operated turf and ornamental business, which was founded in Westchester County, New York, in 1966. The original owners, Tony Grasso Sr. and John Wistrand, sold the business to Rick Apgar in 1988, and that was the start of the future for the Apgar family. As the first generation of the Apgar family to run Metro, Rick laid the foundation for all that Metro stands for, still to this day. By 1991, Rick's son, Scott, joined the team, and helped take Metro to the next level of customer service.
