Michael also wrote the best-selling book on how to help homeowners select the best contractor for your project. Additionally, he coaches homeowners around the country on their remodeling projects so they have the best experience possible. We know that your decision to move forward with your home remodeling project is a great, big step in your life. If you're like our other homeowners as you start out, you want a great general contractor you can trust who can make the whole process go as smooth as possible - and will deliver a quality home remodel in the end.
These compact, fully functional homes can be rented out to tenants or used as personal residences. They can significantly enhance your property's value and are accessible to households with low to moderate incomes.
Remodeling will not only improve the general look of your bathroom, but it will also increase your home's value. However, it is important to note that increasing the value of the house after renovating the bathroom is entirely dependent on the nature of the improvements and what the finished product looks like. Functional and attractive bathrooms tend to make the entire house seem more inviting and friendly, thus encouraging potential buyers to pay the asking price or more. Working with a proven custom bath renovation contractor can help guide you in making decisions.
If you're planning to take your house down to the studs and start over from scratch for a total home remodel, you're probably itching to get started. After all, you've seen it a zillion times on those DIY TV shows. It doesn't look so hard. Just a little drywall and tile and you've got a dazzling new house, right? For one thing, those DIY shows have a huge team of experts behind the scenes who make it look easy. They film over several days, weeks, or months, and all you see is just the highlights within a 30-minute show.
Like many people, you think that "someday" you'll look for land and a contractor get the process started. Only someday just keeps getting put off as other things get in the way. Plus, you may think that custom home building is harder than it really is. You may have a general sense of what you are looking for in your custom home, but you'll soon find that you need more than that. You need details. You need to decide on all the big stuff and the tiny nick picky things. One thing that can really help is to see several custom homes with your own eyes.

You may have the ultimate dream to improve your house in mind, but before you get too carried away, be sure it meets your city or county's requirements.
We contracted Mike to renovate a new purchased home. We reconfigured the home layout, added a bathroom, new kitchen, tankless water heater, all new electrical, and copper plumbing. We had a tight budget and timeline. He was sensitive to both and even paid for our rent for the home we were renting during construction when the job went two weeks longer than expected. Mike and his Son were also available for questions or concerns.
We look forward to having Mike return for phase two (outside privacy wall) of our home improvement plans.
We had Michael do a kitchen remodel and we are very happy with the results.
While not the cheapest bid (but not the most expensive either), in this world, you get what you paid for. Michael and his son, Chris, were very organized, fast and thorough. The subs were all excellent and polite. There was rarely any down time and we were thrilled at how quickly everything was done, yet done with great quality.
We did a complete demo of an old kitchen down to the studs, removal of a wall, door and window. Basically, rebuilt from ground up.
Michael and Chris were always around to answer the many questions we had. Their knowledge and expertise gave us great peace of mind.
We completely renovated and expanded the downstairs area, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome!
We contracted with Baum Construction to build a 280 sq.ft. studio, do a complete kitchen remodel, an extensive exterior facelift which included the design and construction of a complete porch as well as removing and replacing our old driveway and approach. Michael Baum quickly earned our respect and our trust. He was on the job daily, returned our texts and calls promptly, and responded to our questions and requests knowledgeably and candidly. We never felt uninformed or surprised. Michael was both professional and caring regarding our concerns and when we made mistakes in our judgement he helped us correct them as efficiently and inexpensively as possible. On our part, we were very involved, opinionated and fussy but Michael was patient and worked with us from the beginning to end of the project. He made valuable suggestions that saved us time, money and helped us achieve our desired goals. The result was a house we are extremely pleased with in both appearance and function and a friendship with Michael that continues to this day. We constantly receive compliments from friends and neighbors. Often, I refer to Michael as the source of an idea or quality of the work which was done. If I had another project Michael would be my first call. I recommend him without reservation.
I have nothing bad to say about this company. Ive never done construction on our own home and we needed someone to do a job that wouldnt cost us the bank, but still do a good job. Michael is very quick at responding everytime i email or call him and i was pleasantly surprised when his prject manager came by with the electrician to view the job before starting. I didnt get ripped off in price and they did the job quickly and beautifully...viewing all the details to make the space match the rest of our condo.
