Since the early 1950's, the Schwarz Family name has been well known in Addison and the surrounding area. Otto Schwarz started out in the egg business. For many years, the barn was the home of "Otto's Egg Basket" where he raised chickens and sold eggs in the community. In the 1960s, Otto began to grow trees as a hobby. It did not take long for this hobby to grow into a successful business for his family. In 1971, Otto's sons, John and Richard, joined their father in starting Schwarz Nursery. Their goal was to grow trees and shrubs of the highest quality and provide professional landscaping services to their community.
