Low voltage lighting is the "icing on the cake" for your landscape. Lighting gives your property a finished look and also provides some security to those dark areas in your yard. Lighting has advanced to a more efficient no bulb fixture. We have been phasing out the standard Halogen bulb (MR16) to be replaced with "LED" green technology. These "LED" lights are less expensive to operate and are enclosed in a sealed environment. This sealed environment is the actual light fixture that encloses the diode board.
If you are going to invest in a landscape, it's a good idea to consider how you will consistently water. Sprinkler systems give you more leisure time and allow you to leave your yard and go on summer vacations without worrying if your plants will be healthy when you return. A sprinkler system also allows you to water early in the morning. This time is the best time, since water pressure is stronger. There is usually less wind, the air is still cool, thus you will lose less water to evaporation. Also, the sun angle will not let droplets of water on foliage magnify the sun's rays and burn the leaves.
We install various sizes of pipe (4", 6", 8"), based on the amount of water that needs to be moved out. Also city codes require certain sizes or pipe. The most common size is 4 PVC SDR (Sewer and Drain Pipe). Please be aware that the flexible black pipe that many continue to use is not approved by the City of Houston for drainage! This pipe is cheap, will collect silt, and moves when the ground shifts or roots grow under it. This will slow your flow of water out to the street, and potentially cause water to infiltrate areas you are trying to drain! (Not Good!)
For the initial consultation, Bayside Landscape Services will arrange a time to meet with you at your property to discuss your landscaping needs. We will walk the property with you and look at the areas where work is needed listen to your ideas and take notes & measurements. If you are interested in having us design a plan and prepare a proposal, we will need a copy of your plot plan (survey). Some cities require a copy of the plot plan to obtain a permit, plus the survey gives us the details we need to draw your design.
