In 1996, Bill Hodge started providing landscaping services part-time. Over the next two years, Bill pulled his trailer around Northeast Ohio establishing a reputation for providing quality landscaping services. The demand for his services became so great, in 1998 he created Jump Start Lawncare, Inc. a full-service landscaping company. Jump Start Lawncare will choose plants that will enhance your yard, while taking into consideration your personal tastes and growing conditions. Some plants grow better in shaded areas, whereas other plants need sun or partial shade and sun. In designing your landscaping, we carefully take note of the plants blooming season and the size at maturity.

Jump Start Lawncare, Inc. has developed fertilization programs to keep your lawn looking it's best. Our premium program is the GOLD PROGRAM which consists of: Preventive grub control applied once per year that will eliminate grubs eating the roots of your lawn guaranteed. Preventive surface insect control application once per year will help to keep chinch bugs, sod webworms, ants, ticks, and fleas out of your lawn. We also recommend that core aeration be done in the spring or fall to prevent thatch build-up, stimulate growth, and to allow fertilizer, air and water to get down into the soil by the root zone.

Keep your flowerbeds and shrubs healthy and well-maintained all season long by our certified arborist. This includes everything listed in our Spring and Fall Clean Up, plus trimming and weeding an additional 2-3 times during the season. In addition, we will put down pre-emergent in all flower beds, around the house, around tree rings, and any mulched areas to prevent weeds from germinating. This is done before mulching. Finally, we will edge all the beds and around trees so the landscaping is ready for mulching.
