We've been in operation since 1978, starting as a partnership between Mike Skelton and John Carley. Our company was fully incorporated in 1979 with the state of Oregon. In 1981, Mr. Carley divested his portion of the business to move on to an opportunity with a large electronics manufacturer in California, and Mr. Skelton continued on as CEO and president, positions he retains today. Mr. Skelton is a US Navy veteran (SEABEE) where he went to a Class A Naval Construction school where he was trained as a construction electrician.
It is a good idea to have a dedicated circuit for each large appliance in your kitchen, such as the stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Countertop outlets for small kitchen appliances should have two 20-amp branch circuits, and all outlets should be protected with G.F.C.I. breakers.

When you replace your appliances, look for Energy Saver models that use less electricity and save you money. Make sure to use the energy efficient settings on your new appliances, too. Get rid of any extra appliances you don't need, as well.
In the early days, electric wires were insulated with a range of materials. In the 1920s, wires were coated with rubber insulation and wrapped in woven cloth. In two-wire cables, cloth-wrapped wires were separated with waxed paper and inserted into a woven jacket.
One of the best ways to save energy is to simply leave the lights off. If you leave a room, turn out the light, and turn it out if you're going to be gone longer than five minutes. If you have a light you always forget to turn off, post a reminder next to it.
