There are two ways you can check that your sump pump is working correctly. First, lift up the float and see if the pump reacts like it would if the water level was high. Does the pump make any noise? Unplug the pump and then plug it in again. Plug in another product to see if your outlet is working. If the outlet is not working, your pump still could be good.
