Sewer jetting uses high-pressure streams of water to clean sewer, septic, and drain lines. Jetting is an efficient way to clear soft stoppages, which are readily knocked loose and flushed away. This method is also used to thaw and clear ice from frozen drain lines.
Certain things that solidify such as glue, paint, and wax should never be put down your drain. These things will harden inside the pipes, causing a blockage.
When tree roots extend under a drain line, they can loosen the soil, disturb soil compaction and provide a path for rainwater to seep under the pipe. Alone or in combination, these factors can cause drain lines to sink, settle or crack.
If you have multiple stories, knowing which drains are working can help locate the problem. If the upper flows are draining, but the lower are not, the issue is with the pipes on the lower level. However, if these lower-level pipes are clogged, there is the potential to flood the lower story if water is used upstairs.
