John L. Mento started working in landscaping services in 1967 while attending high school. After graduation from Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst in 1971, he began his own company, Mento Landscaping. He incorporated his business in 1973. Mento's basic philosophy is the same today as it was back in 1971, to grow the business one satisfied customer at a time. In the late 90's, John began to see the importance of having a convenient "one stop shopping" experience for his customers.
