Carter's City Self Storage

In 1932, GS Carter & Son, the parent company for Carter's City Self Storage, was founded by Grayson S. Carter, Sr. on Heriot Street in Charleston, South Carolina. The original family business on the site was a lumber business that has spanned 4 generations of Carters. In 1998, Grayson S. Carter, III decided to expand the use of the property to include a Self Storage Facility to provide for the changing needs of the area. Several of the original lumber buildings were renovated to provide various sized climate controlled as well as regular units.
