Ooltewah Nursery & Landscape Co., Inc, began under Wendell Whitener's leadership in the spring of 1989. Prior to the nursery's existence, Wendell owned Wendell Whitener Landscaping Company, which he operated for seven years. In 1988, Wendell had a dream to open a retail garden center in addition to his landscaping business. He scouted for a place in Ooltewah and acquired a 5-acre lot at 5829 Ooltewah-Ringgold Road. The first item that the nursery stocked was white dogwood trees. Someone stopped and inquired about the place, and we sold a dogwood tree the first day they arrived.
From the friendly, knowledgeable staff to the beautiful variety of products to the provision of a wonderful farmer's market - I gladly give 5 stars! Loved the straw bale gardening class!
Beautiful decor, gorgeous flowers & plants, and extremely friendly staff! Whats even better is having this fabulous business in our own hometown and how they give back to our community.
OMG! How did I Not know that this Nursery is SO Great! This place has an incredible gift shop and the best plant prices around. If you are an idiot when it comes to plants and you need help this is the place to go. Talk to Jim. he is amazing, and knowledgeable! I hope I've listened closely enough and I hope my plants survive. Worth the drive from Hixson to Ooltewah. I will be back!

African Violets are so beautiful. They are happy to live in your windowsill. We have many from which to choose, but we also have that hard-to-find soil mix that they need. We even have the correct pots for them as well. Got questions? Ask one of our horticultural experts for help. At Ooltewah.
