Fall aeration and seeding of your turf is critical to your lawn's continued health. Once a lawn has established turfgrass, the practice of applying additional seed on top of the turf is referred to as 'overseeding'. Overseeding helps increase the turf's density and is especially helpful in areas of where the turf is weak or thinned due to summer stress. This practice is a crucial step in renovating compacted soils in areas of heavy traffic and use. Fall is really the ONLY time of year to seed your lawn, and early September to late October is ideal.

Let us take the guesswork out of mowing services. Rather than waiting until your grass is knee-high, Pro Grounds will visit your property regularly from late March through November to perform mowing services, including trimming and edging. Onsite mowing visits are scheduled on a 7-10 day rotation. Based on current weather conditions and seasonal growth fluctuations, we will be onsite more often to ensure your turf is receiving the level of attention it requires. At the beginning of each mowing, we will remove trash and debris from turfgrass areas.

Using a Certified Arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), we can provide a Tree Hazard Assessment and Inventory of all trees on your community property. Our detailed inventory report, which identifies trees on a map by species as well as DBH, provides an evaluation with concerns and recommendations. Should you just need one tree inspected and evaluated, we can do that as well! Professional Grounds is able to meet all your tree trimming and stump removal needs year round using our licensed, insured, and well-qualified team.

We also offer services to evaluate your property for the design, installation, and maintenance of detention and retention ponds for properties located near lakes, streams and rivers throughout Northern Virginia. We can handle general pond maintenance such as mowing and trimming, more involved maintenance such as tree removal from dam embankments or vegetation control, and major erosion control projects and remediation.

Professional Grounds follows all industry standards, and goes beyond to implement our own strict quality control standards that must be met for properly pruning trees and shrubs. The type of pruning done on a property will be tailored to that specific property's needs. Regenerative Pruning Includes major thinning, removal of mature canes, and reduction in overall size of plant material.
