The mark of a talented artisan is the ability to take ideas and turn them into reality. Taylor interpreted our dream, and through his skills as a craftsman created a beautiful 52 foot curved, dry stacked retaining wall. A structure which has enhanced the aesthetics of our garden and which we see and appreciate every single day.
My husband and I first engaged Taylor and his crew to do a natural stone staircase down the side of our mountain home ultimately leading to a patio at the bottom. I wanted the stones to blend into the landscape as if it had always been there like secret stairs. The large irregular shaped stones were perfect to pull the look off that I was seeking. The landscaping which we have added to the area has enhance the look. The patio the path leads to has made a great and very usable space where one did not exist before. We have been so pleased with Taylor's artistic ability to work in stone we have hired him for three additional projects. Our next project was a stone path that followed along the retaining wall were my flower cutting garden is. The space between the stone path and wall of our home he filled with granite chips that are loose but lock into each other for a surface that does not move. No maintenance there just a clean finish to that area. Next I wanted a rock boarder alongside an outside wall which I look at all the time from my kitchen sink window. It was always a no grow zone, Taylor made a river rock stone edge the width of the eve which is visually perfect. Our final project, so far, has been an addition to the downstairs patio which he created on our first project. We have been thrilled with every beautifully natural addition he has made to our home. His workmanship is excellent, he is a true artist working in stone. We highly recommend him for any project you are planning. He is timely, a very hard worker and leaves a site as if he was never there. Meaning he takes everything with him leaving no trace of the work done. This last project, the patio extension, he added soil and mulch to make the transition to nature perfect. Needless to say we believe his work is the best you will find !
Taylor and Matt from Valley Stonescapes did an incredible job installing a 40 foot long stacked stone wall at our home. The wall was at the bottom of a steep slope which required them to have to haul a lot of the materials by hand up a gravel path as it was too narrow to use a piece of equipment to get the materials to the work area. Not only did they perform a HUGE amount of heavy manual work, their attention to detail and the artistry they demonstrated in constructing the wall was amazing to watch.
I highly recommend them for any sort of stonework. They went above and beyond what I had imagined. I will be having them do a second wall very soon.
At this job, we rebuilt a small stone column. We reconstructed the column to match the original. The original was deconstructed by an out of control vehicle. Unfortunately, the job was located next to a very busy road in Henderson county, so the job had high anxiety. Overall, it was a good experience as always.
Hello. Time is flying by. We are busy with our spring/summer projects. I will hopefully have time to post some of our most recent projects.
