A program sponsored by the US Department of Energy which establishes minimum performance stardards for windows to be recognized as energy efficient. At best it would mean you are receiving better performance from your windows and doors; that should be recognized by just how much you are not putting out in payments to your local utility company. Normally, the Low E glass is best. Ten years ago, we offered Solar Green Glass. That was a very good product "then" but today it is not what we acknowledge as "Going Green".

The new wave of Design in Shower Enclosure Systems has changed for the better. Odd it may sound but after a few installations like this, we agree. When there is tile on the floor and the shower "Head" is placed right, not that much water gets out and onto the floor. A "Frameless Shower Enclosure" is just what it sounds like, no frame, glass to glass, mounted with either a channel or with clamps. All glass is tempered safety glass according to Federal Regulations for Safety. The "Heavy Glass" can come in a variety of different patterns or textures, but the clear glass is the easiest to keep clean according to many of our customers. Available also is the low maintenance "ShowerGuard Glass" which has been ionized treated to resist pitting. Made by Guardian Glass and carries a ten year warranty that it will not pit.

Patio Sliding Doors - Normally there are three different sizes for these doors and a few options such as single or double pane glass (insulated glass - IG's). We normally have any of these options in house that we send out on the truck for faster service (when possible). French Doors - These are the wooden doors with glass inserts. These inserts can be single glaze or double pane glass units. Normally there are four different standard sizes. After you call and answer a few questions about your door, we will try and send a few sizes on the truck for faster service.

Only the price varies but the insulated glass units are all built with energy saving intentions. They ALL are built with "air space" designs to keep the "Summer's Hot Air Out" and to keep the "Winter's Warm Air In". If you have energy-efficient glass in your windows it will help to save energy and reduce the household heating bills. There is some good news after the many years of research completed on saving energy, that by using the right type of energy efficient glass, you can also receive more free heat from the sun and at the same time reflect more heat back inside your house during the winter.
