In 1987, Steve Phillips founded what would later be known as Madrone Construction. His goal was to craft the highest quality custom homes, as well as re-envisioning existing homes with the client's ideal lifestyle and individual tastes in mind. What separated him from his contemporaries was the notion that value and quality could be mutually inclusive. When Steve's stepson, Scott Knox, took over the business, this core belief only strengthened. Scott added his talent for meticulous process management, attention to efficiency and combined them with his long-established relationships in the construction industry to help Madrone evolve into a modern, custom home building shop in Bend.
