Public Service Announcement- For some reason which we have yet to learn, manufacturers are making garden hoses with aluminum fittings. We can only assume that the reason is cost. Brass is more expensive than aluminum but it is much less corrosion resistant. What's wrong with saving a few bucks, you ask? The answer is Galvanic Corrosion. When the aluminum in your hose fittings is in prolonged contact with the brass in your hose spigot or nozzle, they will react with each other and fuse together.
