The greatest strength of FB&E is in Construction Management. This means that we oversee all aspects of the project from conceptualizing Owner's vision through final delivery. Much effort is spent before building commences such as estimation, constructability analysis, scheduling, lender support, and permit processing. We proactively manage safety, the construction site, and any Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) in effect. For the entire project duration we communicate continuously and transparently with all involved parties, especially owner and architects, to manage risk and to correct issues at conceptual or design phases rather than after they have materialized in the building.
Facility Builders & Erectors Inc. was established in 1993 by Ken Thomson. For over 25 years, FB&E has been successfully providing Industrial and Community construction services in 6 western states to a diverse clientele ranging from Trash and Recycling, Aerospace manufacturing, Aviation, Transportation and Distribution, along with public works operational facilities and community parks. The company's success has been based on understanding our client's needs and delivering projects as promised. Many of the FB&E projects include a Steel Building component to them.
Buildings for commercial and industrial companies tend to be large and complex and constructing them calls for a well-organized method for managing project details. Industrial and commercial construction entails taking into consideration a number of factors, including the nature of the particular sector for which the structure or structures are being provided, a thorough and comprehensive understanding of all owner desires, the appropriate materials to use and applicable design methods. Beyond these issues, the contractor must keep track of financial and legal constraints.
The Design Builder (DB) offers a comprehensive, sped-up, and cost-contained solution for many construction needs. Clients hire a design builder for two attractive reasons: (1) he assumes full responsibility for both the detailed architectural and building aspects and (2) he assumes all risks for delivering on time and within budget. The DB manager is able to mitigate these risks by working out constructability and material issues between engineers and contractors before detailed drawings are undertaken.
The General Contractor is the entity responsible for delivering a construction project to the client, referred to as the Owner. Traditionally, the General Contractor responds to Owner's solicitation for bids after detailed design drawings have been completed. An alternative arrangement to this traditional Design-Bid-Build (DBB) method is what is known as Design-Build (DB), elevating Contractor's responsibility to include the design phase. In either case, the bid submitted to the Owner includes supporting documentation, including the schedule estimate and Statement of Qualifications.
Building large manufacturing facilities and factories is a challenging undertaking in that such projects are usually very complex and carry significant risks. Manufacturing and Industrial construction services, done correctly, take into consideration how the factory will gather and concentrate its resources of laborers, capital goods and plant design. Contractors have to factor in numerous details, volumes of materials and large labor forces to fulfill their estimating and budgeting duties and eventually to deliver the completed product.
