I have used Doug Newhouse for 28 years! Moreover, I have a lot of trees and love them dearly.
First off, I can honestly say in 28 years Doug has never ever been even a minute late whether for a consultation or to trim the trees. He is dependable as the day is long in every way. Doug is always professional, caring and extremely nice. Additionally, he is a trained arborist and has helped me save some trees.
He keeps the same crew for years and they are always leaving the place clean and are considerate of the neighbors. Newhouse Tree Service may be a little more expensive than some, but, you get what you pay for, they are licensed insured and highly knowledgeable.
Really Newhouse Tree Service is perfect! Thank you, Doug, for all these wonderful years of taking care of our trees!
I have been a client of Doug Newhouse for years. He is consistently punctual, polite, and extremely professional. The longevity of his crew members speaks volumes about his reliability. While he specializes in tree trimming and pruning rather than landscaping, Doug is the ideal expert to turn to for these services.
After experiencing a large limb break from my elm tree, I sought advice from an arborist. Despite leaving messages for two other arborists, I found Doug Newhouse online and decided to call him. To my relief, Doug answered promptly, scheduled an appointment, and arrived punctually. I was pleased to learn from Doug that the tree was not diseased but simply required pruning, which I had suspected. He provided a fair quote and completed the work the following week. His crew performed admirably and cleaned up thoroughly. Doug can be counted on for his responsiveness, fairness, and reliability. Thank you, Doug!
We've used Doug Newhouse for several years to keep our trees alive and in good shape. He's knowledgeable about various tree problems, patient with our questions, and extremely professional in his dealings with us. While Doug does not do the work himself, his crew does an excellent job. They arrive on time (and usually earlier than promised!), take great care to be responsive to our special requests, and leave the area in pristine condition - often cleaner than it was before they started! Doug arrives with his crew to be sure they are clear on the parameters of the job. Although he does not remain throughout the job, he does check back in and makes sure he is present when the crew is finished, to address any added concerns that might have come up. Since this is a condo complex, individual owners often have special requests, may be somewhat anxious about the view from their units after the trimming or just hang out to ask lots of questions. Doug and his crew are consistently patient and always make an effort to accommodate all requests, no matter how annoying they might think us to be!
After you have your trees planted, proper care is essential. It’s important to remember that what you do to your tree in its first few years of life will affect its shape, strength, and even its ultimate life span.
When you have a lot of trees on your property, you could easily spend the entire weekend trying to properly care for them all. If you’d rather not spend all your off time dealing with your trees, we’re always ready to lend a hand.
So how often exactly should you prune or trim your trees and bushes? We recommend a professional pruning either in late winter or in early spring before the trees begin to open their buds. It’s also important to avoid pruning during bouts of extreme heat and extreme cold.
One way to prevent disease in trees and shrubs is to rake the leaves in the Fall. Dead leaves can carry a variety of fungal pathogens that can have adverse effects on your garden.
Did you know that pruning is really the best preventative maintenance that a young tree can receive? Pruning is critical for newly planted trees in order to train and encourage them to develop a strong, robust structure.
