Fortunately, we have seen many cities put tree protection ordinances in place. In light of the negative impact of construction, trees can be quite vulnerable. Not to mention, these kinds of ordinances also promote more responsible planning measures. When conditions around them shift, trees need to be able to adapt. And yet, mature trees especially, have established biological systems that make adapting more difficult. This is why an arborist's report is often required. The type of protection needed is far more in-depth than just protective fencing for example.
