Customers who wish to discontinue electrical service to their home or business should call DES Customer Service at (615) 446-9051 or visit our office at 236 Cowan Road in Dickson, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Only the DES account holder may authorize a discontinuation of electric service. We don't like turning off anyone's service, but we will disconnect your electricity if you don't pay past-due bills. Once a past-due balance has reached our collections office, we will make an attempt to collect the past due amount by sending a postcard in the mail.

Trees near power lines can pose a threat to your electric service, your home, and even your health. Severe weather can cause tree limbs to break and fall on power lines, causing outages. These interruptions to your electric service are costly and inconvenient. When our crews are out trimming trees around power lines in your neighborhood, it is to minimize the potential effects of these storms and to ensure that your electric service is as reliable as possible. At Dickson Electric, we know that few things are more inconvenient to you than a power outage or more dangerous than a downed power line on your property.

Protect your home appliances and electronics from potential power surges through your meter. Surges can occur from damage to power lines by animals, accidents, or severe weather conditions. Dickson Electric System (DES) offers a leased surge protection device that is attached to your meter and is designed to direct surges to the ground instead of into your home. If a surge is powerful enough to pass through the device and damage appliances and electronics, warranty coverage is provided by the manufacturer.

Enhance the safety of your home or business with leased outdoor lighting. DES offers three dusk-to-dawn LED fixtures installed on existing or added DES service poles. Cost: Light and pole rental charges are added to your monthly electric bill. The monthly rates change by a few cents as TVA adjusts our electric rates each month. Some new installations may be subject to construction fees to be paid before installation. Please contact DES for current rates. Process: Residential property owner or business owner/tenant must sign a two-year Application-Contract and pay a $25 non-refundable application fee.
