Through our partnership with Seattle magazine, AIA Seattle shares our members' work with a discerning audience and provides connections to local clients who are interested in working with an architect. Join us in communicating the value of working with a licensed architect by submitting to the Home of Distinction program by January 27! Look to our events calendar to find the latest updates on if committee events and meetings are happening online or postponed. Through advocacy, AIA Seattle promotes a well-designed, sustainable city with opportunities for all and creates opportunities for architects to impact public policy and civic issues.
AIA Seattle believes our world needs the visionary and integrative thinking of architects and designers, and that design solutions can positively impact our communities. That is why we champion the central role of architects in creating and sustaining a better built environment. A chapter of the American Institute of Architects, AIA Seattle is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, membership service organization. Founded in 1894, AIA Seattle is comprised of over 2,500 architects and allied professionals throughout the Puget Sound region.
AIA membership is for architects who want to share the knowledge, resources and strength of the AIA community. Together we help create better places to work and live through education, advocacy and professional development. AIA is a three-tiered member organization for architects with benefits and dues at the national, state and local levels. AIA Seattle annually offers over 50 AIA classes that meet Washington State's new requirements for continuing education. There is no better place for architects to earn their 24 professional development hours.
AIA Seattle is located at the Center for Architecture & Design. The Center is a dynamic public space for exhibits, programs, and conversations that explore design's role in shaping cities. We created the Center for Architecture & Design (CfAD) with Design in Public, Seattle Architecture Foundation and AIA Washington Council. By partnering at the Center, we leverage our expertise and resources to celebrate the power of design, advocate for policies affecting the built environment, and examine ideas to help Seattle meet the challenges it faces.
