We are passionate about creating awesome spaces where you love to spend time. Our in-house interior design team is integrated with all our studios. So, whether you need only a quick consult, or whether you need every finish, fixture, material, and product selected, spec'd and placed, we are ready to help you out. Integrated design not only creates a better project, but also provides the best service for our clients. With interiors in-house, your project is never siloed, nor isolated. While we may try to gently coax you away from something we think is a bad idea, when it comes down to it, this is your project.

Our landscape architects have experience on a wide array of projects: public and private, large and small, commercial and residential. So, whether you're investing in interior spaces or not, why not make your exterior spaces sing? Working closely with our architects and interior designers, our landscape team integrates into all our studios, so not only do we enjoy seamless communication of ideas and problem solving, but also, the team is available to jump on your project at any point, even if for just a quick consult.

As a firm of cross-disciplinary studios (architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture), we offer a more integrated approach than many of our competitors. Our constant collaboration across disciplines results in design that is thoughtful, considerate, and efficient: delivering feasible and beautiful spaces on that are well-constructed and will endure for the life of the project. Throughout the phases - from pre-design to when you move in - it is our intent to work collaboratively and transparently with you.

Board & Vellum was founded in 2011 by Jeff Pelletier in the attic of his Capitol Hill home. He didn't want his name on the door, wasn't interested in only one architectural style, and was determined to show that exceptional design could come with ego-free attitude and great service. Since those early days, we've grown our staff and our portfolio of work by providing honest customer service. Even at our size of nearly 40 architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and creative professionals, we deliver personalized attention and are committed to changing how the design industry is perceived - both by clients and by the passionate people who work in this field.
