For a while I'll be posting construction progress photos for the replacement ranger building at Arroyo Burro County Beach Park. Around 2018 the dilapidated shed used by the rangers finally collapsed on its own. This replacement building will provide a small office, tool storage, and a carport to protect the park's utility vehicle. With the basic shell up, progress turns to installing structural connectors and outside pieces. Here, the east side deck and stairs are being built, and formwork has begun for the entry stairs in front.
This owner-built backyard entertaining space provides a sheltered fireside sitting patio supported by an outdoor kitchen and dining area with multiple fire features. It is a wonderful outdoor room in which to prepare and enjoy a BBQ dinner, then relax around the fire to watch the stars come out. Without disturbing the existing mature trees, a plan was created that provides access walks, cooking space, dining space, and relaxing space. What was previously an unused portion of the backyard now is a hub for outdoor dining, entertaining, and relaxing.
