Since 1985, architects Dennis Thompson and Susette Naylor have worked with individuals and institutions to design and build hundreds of new and remodeled projects. Our mission is to help create beautiful places, while strengthening community and protecting nature. The American Institute of Architects calls for its members to be Citizen Architects, using their "insights, talents, training, and experience to contribute meaningfully, beyond self, to the improvement of the community and human condition."

Here is another image of the recently completed project of a residence and accessory dwelling in the Mesa neighborhood. Working with Dennis the owners crafted a 2-story house on the sloping lot, with an accessory dwelling unit below. The upper level of the house, at street level, has three bedrooms, kitchen and living room.
Allen Construction recently completed our design for a wonderful 2500 s.f. residence and 600 s.f. accessory dwelling in the Mesa neighborhood. The owner was a student at UCSB and he has returned to the region with his family after a career in the Bay Area.
