A local chapter of American Institute of Architects (AIA), AIA Houston is a community of architects coming together to accomplish in our practices and in our region that which no single architect can do alone. Through a diverse catalog of programs, members have access to resources and tools to shape the built environment of Greater Houston. AIA Houston's public outreach programs serve as a platform for experiencing architecture and design on a personal level, and reach a wide range of audiences, including students, educators, architects and designers, artists, design aficionados, Houston residents, visitors, and those interested in learning more about Houston's built environment.
The Recommended Practices of the Houston Chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Associated General Contractors of America are designed to help any project flow smoothly from beginning to end. For the past 50 years, the AIA/AGC Joint Committee has provided a forum for the Design and Construction community to discuss pertinent issues related to the construction industry. The Committee's goal is to promote cooperation among all the participants and to develop tools that support a collaborative process.
Whether you are a member trying to find information about a local firm, or someone who is looking for a firm to help with an upcoming project, you can find who you are looking for using AIA Houston's Architectural Firm Search.
The Small Firm Roundtable meets monthly on the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 PM. This group provides a forum for dialogue among peers and a venue to support architects who have recently branched out on their own, have a growing firm, or are considering starting their own businesses. Meetings consist of focused conversation and invaluable insights on important issues and practices. Small Firm Roundtable is a committee exclusive to architects who are members of AIA Houston.
