We have, since our founding in 1978, the privilege of working on several wonderful homes and many of the most prominent and best loved buildings in the country. These projects, especially the historic ones, require our uncommon set of skills that combine technical expertise with an artist's touch. Our goal is to utilize the finest building materials and techniques that maintain the integrity of original craftsmanship. And the result is an award winning body of work that is uniquely authentic and celebrates the timeless appeal of traditional architecture.
Candace Volz has been working in Interior Design for more than 35 years, with a cadre of many satisfied clients who appreciate the beauty and character of historic spaces. She loves to work with a client's program and budget to develop a plan for the interiors that accomplishes their goals for the property; developing furnishing plans, and selecting finishes, fixtures and furnishings that allow the realization of those goals.
We've had the privilege of working on a wide range of prominent and best loved buildings in Texas and beyond, as well as many private homes. From this experience we know that a successful project requires a special set of skills that combine an architect's eye and training with specific material conservation expertise. Our goal is to restore the finest building materials and techniques, maintaining the integrity of the original craftsmanship, while incorporating modern conveniences through quality design.
Volz & Associates offers a wide range of architectural consultation services to individual clients and larger architectural firms. These services help define an owner's program, the causes and sources of deterioration, early solutions to design and material challenges, and opinions of cost that can be broken into phases of work. We also welcome the opportunity to work on focused aspects of larger projects, providing tenured expertise in specific challenges related to historic buildings. We take a holistic approach to all of our work. This includes detailed fieldwork, careful condition assessment, thorough historic research and analysis. If the building shows signs of deterioration, then we want to address the causes of those problems, not just the symptoms. If the building needs plumbing, electrical or HVAC systems updated or its accessibility improved, then we want to find creative ways to accommodate these new features while preserving the integrity of the original building. If the building has historic designations, then we can readily meet the requirements of numerous supervisory entities including the Texas Historical Commission and the Secretary of the Interior.
