We're LEED accredited and licensed in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and California. Our work is diverse by design, allowing us to explore the best design solutions across varied project types, including residential, commercial, hospitality, breweries and wineries, interiors, urban planning, and custom furniture. We assist our clients through the entire architectural and construction process, from site selection and design through permitting and construction. We work collaboratively with our design team and fabricators to create beautiful, livable, superior spaces.
We transformed a 20,000 square foot bow truss warehouse into a glass roof illuminated food and beverage industry co-working center in the West Loop. Working with our client to define the scope, we carved out spaces for private offices, office pods, meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen, and two bars. We added a second floor and strategically placed openings to allow light to flow to the main level so every space has access to natural light. This adaptive reuse building is now home to CoLaboratory, Chicago's first food-centric shared workplace.
This new optometrists office is just a hop, skip and Metra stop away from us, in Park Ridge, Illinois. Our design includes a bright reception area, array of custom glasses display shelving and several exam rooms and offices. Reclaimed elements include the custom steel reception pendant, repurposed shipping crate tropical hardwood floors, and salvaged barn wood ceiling and beams in the pre-test area. We preserved and restored the original pressed tin ceiling.
Originally constructed as a single-story Worker Cottage with an attic above, this building endured many haphazard renovations. The program for our client was to modernize the home and add additional square footage while respecting and maintaining the traditional residential scale and street presence. We restored the front facade and split the main level so the public living space is at grade with easy access to the backyard. The first level has a guest suite that connects to the open kitchen/living space and the new master suite with balcony and additional bedrooms are located on the second level.
#wip at our West Town single family renovation project. Trusses that form the floor structure and cantilever are hoisted to second level. The open webbing in the trusses provides superior cantilever distances and increase space to house electrical and plumbing. • • • • •#construction #...
Whether you're a climate change believer or denier, there is no denying the science and factual data. With Texas and Oklahoma in a state of emergency and millions without power, a polar vortex is an event that will continue to make the chances for extreme weather that much greater as global warming...
Craving a cultural experience during an extended lockdown? Several of these exhibitions are available for virtual viewing and are less mind-numbing than endless doomscrolling.
