Our mission is to provide leadership, communication, education, and advocacy in support of Architects and their constituencies in the Potomac Valley region. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is the largest and most influential professional association for architects, interns, and those directly involved with the practice of architecture in the world. Based in Washington, DC., AIA consistently works to create more valuable, healthy, secure, and sustainable buildings, neighborhoods, and communities.

The Potomac Valley Architecture Foundation (PVAF) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with, and supported by, the American Institute of Architects Potomac Valley Chapter. The Foundation's mission is to advance good design and sustainability through outreach. Our major programs include Scholarships, LEAFHouse Learning Lab and Community Outreach.
