Studio Luz Architects uses the smaller scale intervention as a testing ground for the ideas embedded within larger constructs. As a more direct and bracketed engagement with the public, these works allow for social dynamics to be explored in relationship to the built environment. The work oscillates between artistic inspirations, infrastructural systems and furniture. Often research driven, we always strive for a thoughtful balance between technological advancement, sustainable practices and engaging the human condition.
Studio Luz Architects strives to imbue each commercial project with rich experiences and interactions between the users, clients, and the spaces in which they operate. Each project begins with a strong collaborative spirit that builds upon and extends our client's mission Our work in various retail, office and hospitality settings has allowed for a productive cross pollination of ideas and strategies.
Studio Luz Architects is dedicated to rethinking the way such institutions build. To be an effective cultural institution is be a sustainable institution, in terms of economy, ecology and society. We are inspired by the complexity, history and challenges of cultural institutions and enjoy the possibilities for expression of those values through architecture.
Studio Luz Architects approaches residential work with an open ear, mind and sketchbook. Dwelling is both a verb and noun; the active participation between people and place is inspiring. We are actively engaged with the process from conception to execution.
Architects Hansy Better Barraza and Anthony Piermarini relocated their Fort Point practice, Studio Luz Architects, to Roslindale Village (67 Poplar Street, next door to the Treasure Chest) a few weeks ago.
