Ford Lumber & Millwork Company was founded by Mr. Gordon Ford in Mobile, Alabama in 1957. Having gained experience in the lumber business while assisting Mr. A.S. Mitchell (see braggmitchellmansion.com) in the management of The Longleaf Pine Company, in 1957, Mr. Ford acquired a small single location hardware store and lumberyard known as M.W. Wright Lumber Company and changed the name to Ford Lumber Company. Today, the Company has grown to multiple locations covering a much larger geographic area, but we remain a locally owned and operated building material supplier committed to providing superior value to our customers, including residential and commercial contractors, remodelers, industry, and do-it-yourselfers.

Our Millwork Division assembles key millwork products, including interior doors, allowing us to control quality, service and cost, and to pass those benefits on to our customers. We carry molded interior doors (hollow core, semi-solid core, and solid core) and solid wood interior doors manufactured by Jeld-Wen, a leader in the interior door industry.
