Our wood storm doors and windows are exact replicas from the Victorian and Colonial eras but are updated to allow storm and screen panels that can be easily installed from the inside. They can be painted any color and are fastened to the exterior of your home, giving the opening a fresh clean look. We can accommodate a wide range of variations when it comes to sizes, shapes and decorative millwork applications. Whether you have an opening with a straight, rounded or arch top we can make it happen.
Thirty years in business and counting! Who knew? Thank you to All Around Pennsauken and AAP editor Frank Sinatra for a great article on our start, our work, and where we're headed. Read the entire article here. When the new construction market in the 1980s began to fizzle out, Pennsauken native Rick Tamburo went looking for the next home trend. He found it in the Victorian revival, dabbling in bracket and porch restoration. But it was his work customizing Victorian wood screen doors that drew demand from customers, turning a hunch into Victoriana East, a Pennsauken-based business that's reached the 30 year mark.
Many of the older homes in the Philadelphia area have single-pane windows which have a tendency to leak air and allow for condensation to accumulate. Victorian East's wood storm windows are designed to enhance the look of pre 1950's homes, but have screen and storm panels which are removable from the interior. Most traditional homes were designed to have storm windows protecting their windows and adding insulation benefits. Storm windows will take the brunt of all weather and keep your windows looking good for many years to come.
Whether your present project is classic Victorian, 18th century Colonial, Mid-Century Modern, Arts and Crafts style or even contemporary, we can supply you with unusual and historical wooden storm doors, screen doors and other products not generally found in local lumber yards. As a result, your home will be the envy of the neighborhood! Each of our doors is custom made to enhance the style of your house and entry door behind it. You can choose from one of our many styles or design your own. For example, we are often asked to take a strong architectural feature on a house, such as brackets on a front porch or corbels under a soffit, and incorporate it into the design of the door.
These 3 1/2” corbels made their streetside appearance today.
