If your home was built before World War II, chances are your basement was never intended to be a living space. It was a cellar, containing a large and inefficient furnace and perhaps some laundry facilities. The heat radiating from the furnace might have warmed the cellar a little but otherwise the space would have been unheated. The original cellar windows would have been simple glass panes, with no particular concern for security or energy saving. There was, after all, little energy down there to save.
Security Max 4 Hopper Windows are our most popular window and with good reason. Custom manufactured exclusively for Basement Window Guy, Security Max 4 windows feature a virtually unbreakable outer pane of polycarbonate for ultimate security and improved energy efficiency. Egress windows provide a legal secondary means of exit, plus they allow greater natural light for a more liveable basement room. Our dedicated egress window installers are experienced, efficient and thorough.
