In 1957, Ted and Louwina VanOosten started Woodwork Specialties by assembling cabinetry and pre-hung doors in the basement of their home. Two generations later, Woodwork Specialties Co. has become a full service building supply company offering lumber, trim, moulding, windows, pre-hung doors, wood doors, cabinets, countertops, door hardware, siding, roofing, decking, hardwood floors, stairway parts, insulation, and much more to contractors and homeowners. Our goal at Woodwork Specialties Co. is to provide all of West Michigan with quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service.

At Woodwork Specialties, we feature an abundant selection of building materials to meet your building or project needs. When you have questions, ask our knowledgeable staff who can provide you with helpful product information, installation advice, and design suggestions.

Woodwork Specialties Co. carries interior doors, exterior doors, and patio doors. We will build custom pre-hung interior doors according to your design specifications. They can be ordered individually or included in your interior trim package. Our skilled door craftsmen also build custom cabinet doors. Interior doors can be ordered in poplar, oak, birch, cherry, maple, pine, hickory, walnut, or alder. If you would like another species of wood, we will find what you need.

Woodwork Specialties offers a variety of lumber to meet all your building needs. Our products include premium grade dimensional lumber, pressure treated, engineered joist, roof trusses, floor trusses, LVLs, PSLs and glulams. We also stock roughsawn lumber, finish grade and construction plywood, fire-rated plywood, and marine-grade plywood. Woodwork Specialties is your store for MDF (medium density fiberboard) composite board and beadboard, all available in various sizes. Want to find a particular species of wood?
