The SunClad Casement offers refined style and function in a high-performance window. The plain profile of the sash exterior with its mitered corners and deep glazing stop provides a simple but classic appeal. A single crank operator, with a fold-away style handle, is located on the sill to open and close the sash. A single latch lever is located on the side jamb to unlock (and lock) the sash. One or more latching points are activated by the lever, depending on the size of the window. The hinge/glide system is adjustable for sash alignment to the frame.
SunClad Sliding Doors offer many of the same features and options as our in-swing and out-swing doors, but in a sliding door configurations. Sliding door operation can be selected as Left or Right active panel, as viewed from the exterior. Available as two panel units, three panel units (a two panel unit with Fixed single unit mulled to one side), or four panel units with two operating center panels. SunClad Sliding Doors open by sliding the operating panel sideways. The operating panel can be ordered on the left or right side as viewed from the outside.
SunClad Bi-Fold Doors are a combination of our clad-wood door panel and innovative folding door hardware developed by Centor Architectural. Bi-Fold doors literally open up design possibilities for spectacular views and unhindered access between the interior of a home or building and the beauty of the outdoors. Centor's E3 bi-fold door hardware provides the flexibility of a glass wall that can easily be turned into a wide open pathway. Applications include everything from a private residential entertainment area to an ambitious storefront, restaurant or commercial project.
All Sun products use dual glazed insulated glass as standard. This is composed of 2 pieces of glass with a 1/2 hermetically sealed airspace between them. Our insulated glass units are configured from a selection of low-emissivity glass with coatings that are designed for the variety of climates within our region. Triple glazing is available on casement, fixed lite, and door products.
Sun windows and doors are a great solution for many Commercial applications. Sun is dedicated to the specific needs of the Commercial building industry. Our staff is ready to work with you to develop a plan to meet the requirements of your project. SunClad is the name we give our heavy-gauge extruded aluminum exterior on our clad-wood products. It provides exceptional strength and long life for the product and it is the perfect surface for our High Durability Powder Coat Finish. Additionally, our new construction SunClad products have an integral nailing fin that provides a strong, rigid fastening surface for their installation and a hard flashing point.
This may seem obvious but we often get service requests for products that end up not being ours. 1. Look for the Sun logo on the glass. It is located in the lower left corner of the sash or panel when looking at the product from the interior. It is etched in the glass, so it can be faint and maybe a little hard to see. Look closely and you should be able to see it. 2. The second check is to look at the glass spacer that separates the pieces of glass in your insulated glass unit. On almost all Sun products, the glass spacer will be black.
Renovation projects include replacing windows and doors in already finished buildings. It also includes rebuilding or remodeling projects where windows and doors may be added to a structure. These projects can vary greatly in their installation requirements. Replacement products may be the best solution if you are looking to simply replace an existing window or door. However, frame tear-outs and reframing projects may take advantage of other installation options available with our standard product frames.
