At National Garden Clubs, we do more than just green your thumb. We connect you with people, plants and programs that provide inspiration, information and valuable resources. Plant America is focused on educating, supporting and building America's garden communities. This theme is chosen to help NGC members and the public return to the "roots" of why most members join garden clubs- to learn about gardening! Our schools provide members and non-members with a range of educational opportunities on the art and science of the environment, gardening, landscape design and floral design.

National Garden Clubs, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that aims to promote the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility and we help coordinate the interests and activities of state and local garden clubs in the U.S. and abroad. The first garden club meeting in the United States took place in Athens, Georgia in 1891. It occurred during a time when women were seeking knowledge about a variety of subjects in study clubs of those with like interests. They felt they needed more knowledge, as they had not had the benefit of a formal higher education.

Our schools provide members and non-members with a range of educational opportunities on the art and science of the environment, gardening, landscape design and floral design. Flower Show School is a comprehensive program that teaches all you need to know about judging, entering, competing and chairing a NGC flower show. Gardening Schools provide educational information to those who are especially interested in gardening, horticulture and related subjects. Helping members and others develop a greater appreciation of the environment, both natural and human made.

A busy club in Massachusetts is the Hull Garden Club. They have many community projects. One they just completed was making 126 flower arrangements that they delivered to the Anne M Scully Senior Center for Valentines Day. These arrangements were used by Wheels on Meals to deliver food and cheer within the community.
